Kathleen came to us via a trusted friend. Our 11 month old pug-chihuahua puppy has given us some challenges over the past couple months with increased biting. So as we felt overwhelmed and not sure what to do we engaged Head and Heart Training. Kathleen asked us questions, observed Dina our puppy and showed a lot of compassion, non judgement and insights into why our pup was biting us. So we have learned about canine communication and it has made a difference so far. We hope to sign up for additional training soon to give both us and our pup more skills in understanding each other. She provided me all the information I needed to better understand what was going on with my dog then all the proper tools and training I could do to correct it over time. “Kathleen is a dog whisperer. She has endless patience and only uses positive reinforcement in her training. Her love of dogs is obvious.

I was always anxious walking my giant puppy because he is very strong and stubborn and he would just pull me wherever he wanted to go. He wanted to play and romp with every passing dog and would drag me across the street to greet them. After training with Kathleen, he will walk with me and remain under control when meeting other dogs so that we can have safe outings together.

His recall is improving and he has learned many new skills. He adores Kathleen and his sessions with her are the highlight of his week.”

“Kathleen had several sessions with our Alaskan sled dog, Arwen. It was clear from the beginning that Kathleen cares greatly for dogs. Arwen is a rescue dog who has developed some fear-based aggression towards other dogs over the years. Kathleen was very patient with Arwen and made every training session a fun experience for her. We quickly saw Arwen gain confidence and skills. Kathleen gave us a lot of tips so that we also feel confident continuing the training on our own. We contacted Kathleen after noticing our pup starting to get reactive around children. Within the 4 months we’ve been working with her, we’ve seen major improvements! With Ollie being a puppy, she was so understanding and highly adaptable to his attention span. She made the sessions really engaging for him and he always went home a happy and tired pup.
