Science and Compassion guide everything we do at Head & Heart Training.

We help dogs and their people work through challenging behaviours in a way that is kind, practical, and based on how dogs actually learn and experience the world. Our methods focus on addressing what is driving the behaviour in the first place to produce effective and long-lasting solutions.

We commonly support dogs who struggle with:

  • Barking, lunging, or reacting strongly on leash

  • Aggression toward people or other dogs

  • Fearful, anxious, or compulsive behaviour

  • Guarding food, toys, or space

  • Over-excitement, frustration, or difficulty settling

  • Puppy and adolescent behaviour like jumping, mouthing, and general overwhelm

The head and heart need to work in harmony to attain our full potential.

Living with these challenges can feel stressful, confusing, and isolating. Many caregivers come to us feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or carrying shame or guilt. Life is not simple: Stress, grief, disability, financial pressure, and mental health challenges can all affect both dogs and their caregivers. Our goal is for both dogs and the people who love them to feel supported and respected while learning.
