Boarding at Camp Snowflake

ALL dogs are welcome at Camp Snowflake!

Camp Snowflake is one of few pet care servicers in BC that specializes in accommodating dogs with behavioral and/or medical special needs. When staying with us, your dog will be under the care of a fully certified trainer. Rest assured that my trained eye sees all, and I will make all necessary adjustments to ensure that your dog is relaxed and happy during their stay.

I have two cozy “snowflake zones” in my home that allow me to carefully manage your dog’s environment so that they are sheltered from any auditory, visual, or situational triggers that they may have. Both of these areas double up as my office space so that your dog and I will spend plenty of time together, and have a pull-out bed in case your dog is afraid to sleep alone at night.

I am canine first aid certified and have extensive experience providing medical care to animals through my background as a biologist.

We are committed to low-capacity boarding (max 3 dogs at a time) to ensure that each dog gets the individual attention they deserve. Each guest is provided with two daily walks, regular potty breaks, daily enrichment activities, and plenty of playtime in a fully fenced off-leash play area.

I may leave the home for a maximum of six hours daily to visit my training clients, unless a special request has been made for around the clock care.

Rates

Initial Assessment Visit $40 + GST

  • All dogs must come for a minimum of one 2-hour assessment visit before approval for future boarding. Visits begin with an initial greeting and tour of the facilities (~30minutes), followed by an assessment period where your dog will be left with me for observation (1.5 hours).

  • Fearful dogs or dogs with human reactivity may need to do several visits and/or a trial sleepover, before approval for future boarding.

$120 + GST /night

  • Additional dogs from the same household are an additional $30/day. Additional fees apply if the second dog needs separate walks.

  • Please inquire for pricing if your dog requires around-the-clock care.

  • Transportation is available to and from my home. Prices depend on distance covered.
