Before We Work Together

I’m so glad you’re here! Before we get started, here’s everything you need to know so we can make your training experience the best it can be.

My Availability

I love what I do, and I want to make sure I can give every client and every dog my full focus. Alongside my training business, I now work full-time at the BC SPCA, which means my calendar is a little tighter than it used to be. To keep things sustainable (and avoid burning out), I only work with two training clients at a time and see each on a consistent, alternating schedule. This slower pace allows me to bring my best energy and creativity to each session—so even if there’s a bit of a wait to get started, you’ll know you’re getting my full attention once it’s your turn.

Specialty Limitations

I do not offer separation anxiety training.

For this, please contact a qualified specialist:

Behavioral Consultation ($195)

This 1 hour consultation is for behavioral issues beyond the scope of basic manners, such as leash reactivity, phobias, resource guarding, stereotypical behaviors (chasing light, chasing tails, excessive licking and chewing), or aggression cases involving toy breeds in homes without small children.

A detailed written training plan catered to your specific needs is also included in this consultation

Aggression consultation ($239)

This 1.5 hour consultation is for families who are dealing with the aftermath of a first bite or attempted bite, or ongoing aggression problems. These consultations are given priority scheduling.

The consultation includes a thorough discussion of your dog’s history, biology, and behavior so that I can identify the the underlying causes of the aggression.

This is a safe and non-judgmental space for the many difficult emotions felt by families dealing with aggression.

The information I gather during this consultation will be used to write a report which includes an aggression prognosis, initial steps for a behavior modification, emotional support resources, and a thorough breakdown and discussion of your options if you are unsure about whether or not to keep your dog.

Client Capacity & Scheduling

  • I work with only 2 clients at a time.

  • I do not take on new clients until I have completed work with an existing client.

  • This often means a waitlist and/or scheduling consultations 1–2 months in advance.

Coaching Packages

After your initial consultation, I typically recommend moving forward with a training coaching package to help you reach the goals we set together. Packages are designed to provide consistent support and progress, with each session building upon the last.

Each 1-hour session includes:

  • An assessment of progress since our last session

  • A practice period to reinforce the skills learned

  • The introduction of new training exercises tailored to your needs

Additional support is provided after each session, including:

  • Detailed session notes

  • Homework assignments

  • Ongoing email, text, and WhatsApp support
